We are pleased to share that the project led by Mohamed Mounir El Mendili (Sorbonne University, Paris), together with colleagues Clara Bremond, Pierre-François Pradat and Giorgia Querin in NCP team led by Véronique Marchand-Pauvert, has been selected as part of the 2025 call for applications by the Fondation Maladies Rares, for a Master’s internship grant on “Innovation in AI & e-Health for Rare Diseases”.
The project focuses on the stratification of patients with amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) using brain and spinal MRI data, leveraging artificial intelligence techniques, particularly generative adversarial networks (GANs). The goal is to more accurately stratify patients based on their disease aggressiveness. This stratification will enable physicians to predict each ALS patient’s disease trajectory more precisely, tailor care accordingly, and improve quality of life.
This grant will support a 6-month internship dedicated to the development and evaluation of these innovative methods.
